Programmers often state that a proposed design is impossible when what they mean is that it is impossible given the current schedule.
這里when和what分別引導什么成分，given 是過去分詞的什么用法，？？

Programmers often state that a proposed design is impossible when what they mean is that it is impossible given the current schedule.

when 就一連詞啊引導從句（what they mean） is（ that it is impossible） that 引導 it is impossible
given 其實是give的過去分詞但是這里的用法慢慢演變成介詞了就跟considering 一樣也慢慢演變成介詞了其實是 dangling phrase的特例
      這類詞有好些，自己可以google下
句子加些逗號換下語序就好懂了

謝謝你大牛，這是文都考研的何老師編寫的考研核心詞匯里的例句，schedule
是不是這樣呀， Programmers often state that a proposed design is impossible when what they mean is that it is impossible given the current schedule
我改了一下，大牛你看我改的對不對
programmers often state that a proposed design is impossible ,by this is meant that it is impossible to complete the design according to the current schedule

哥們你這by 用的。。。昨天我記得說過了介詞后面幾乎只跟名詞你這后面咋都跟了一句子肯定不行

this is meant that 。。。 mean也不能那樣用只有this is meant to。。。I‘m meant to 要么就this means that。。。
