Dear Mr. Arnold,
thank you for your kind invitation to attend the party for new students on the 29th of January. Thank you also for thinking of me to give a talk.Unforunately I am unable to attend the party.
I am afraid that on the following day I have my first semester economics' exam. This is a complicated subject and a good mark is essential for me, so I have to spend the day befor studing.However,I would be very happy to give the talk on another date.I am available on the 5th and 6th of February. Let me know if one of those dates is convenient for you.
I hope that everyone at the college is well, and I hope that your party is a great success.I look forward to hearing from you.

阿諾德先生，
感謝您邀請我參加1月29日的新生晚會并讓我在會上發言。遺憾的是，我不能出席完會。
晚會之后翌日，我要參加第一學期的經濟學考試。這是很難的考試，成績對我來說很重要，所以考前一天我得花時間準備。不過，我很愿意另外找時間和學生交流。2月5日和6日我都有空。如果這兩個時間對您方便，請通知我。
