燕園多水，堤岸都用大塊石頭依其自然形態堆砌而成。走進有點古跡意味的西校門，往右一轉，可見一片荷田。夏日花大如巨碗。荷田周圍，都是石頭。有的橫躺，有的斜倚，有的豎立如小山峰，有的平坦可以休憩。岸邊垂柳，水面風荷，連成層疊的綠，涂抹在石的堤岸上。
