英文寫作高分同義替換

在本文中，我會選取英文寫作當中常見的同義替換進行講解，所講解的詞匯表達為通用詞匯或者話題詞匯。雖然是同義替換，但是每個詞在意思/搭配/使用語境等方面都會有一些細微的區別，不能隨意進行替換。

1 非常/很(very)

highly、heavily、deeply、exceedingly這些詞一般放在形容詞/副詞前。

①highly用在某些形容詞前，表示程度很大。

highly likely/unlikely非常可能/不太可能 | highly successful很成功
②heavily在很大程度上。修飾帶有動作性質的形容詞。

heavily polluted rivers受污染嚴重的河流 | heavily addicted to online games高度沉迷網絡游戲
③deeply多用于修飾人的主觀情感。

deeply concerned about非常擔心 | Teachers are deeply divided on this issue.老師們對此觀點分歧很大。
④exceedingly相當于extremely，程度比very要大。

The crime rate is exceedingly high.犯罪類非常高。

2 非常/很(very much/a lot)

greatly、considerably、significantly這些程度副詞修飾動詞，放在動詞前后。

①greatly相當于very much。

Housing prices have greatly increased in recent years.房價近些年漲幅很大。

Yuan Longping contributed greatly to modern agriculture.袁隆平對當代農業做出了巨大貢獻。
②considerably/significantly常與比較級或表變化的詞搭配。

The temperature is considerably higher today.如今的溫度高了不少。

Conditions have improved considerably over the past few years.過去幾年條件改善了不少。

Health problems can be significantly reduced by careful diet.可以通過小心飲食來顯著減少健康問題。

3 富有的(rich/wealthy)

affluent、well-off、prosperous、privileged

①affluent和wealthy/rich可以互換。

affluent western countries富裕的西方國家 | today’s affluent society當今富裕的社會

②well-off只修飾人/家庭，強調生活質量高。well-off的比較級是better-off/better off。

children from well-off families富裕家庭的孩子 | The better off people become, the more time they spend on entertainment.人們越有錢，在娛樂上花費就越多。
③prosperous繁榮的，可以表示“富裕的”。常修飾人或地區/國家。

prosperous families富裕的家庭 | prosperous countries富裕的國家
④privileged表示非常有錢、社會地位高的。

Only the privileged few can afford private education.只有少數有錢有勢的人才能負擔地起私立教育。

4 貧窮的(poor)

impoverished、deprived、needy、disadvantaged

①impoverished=very poor。來源于使動詞impoverish使...貧困。

impoverished peasants貧困的農民 | impoverished areas貧困地區
②deprived同樣來自使動詞：deprive剝奪；使喪失。

deprived children貧困兒童 | a deprived background貧困的出身
③needy只修飾人/家庭。the needy=the poor窮人。

a needy family貧困家庭 | We offer scholarships for needy students.我們為貧困學生提供助學金。
④disadvantaged弱勢的；社會地位低下的。the disadvantaged表示弱勢人群；貧困人群。

disadvantaged groups弱勢群體 | students from disadvantaged backgrounds貧困學子

5 使用；利用(use)

take advantage of、utilise、employ、exploit、draw on

①take (full) advantage of=make good use of。

Students should take full advantage of their spare time to pursue their hobbies.學生應該利用閑暇時間培養興趣。
②utilise相當于use，但是比use更加正式。utilise是英式拼寫，美式寫法為utilize。

We must learn to utilise the resources we have.我們必須學會利用所擁有的資源。

This room is mainly utilised for training purposes.這個房間主要被用作訓練。
③employ表示使用某種方法/工具/技能。

The report examines teaching methods employed in the classroom.該報告研究了課堂中使用的教學方法。
④exploit表示充分有效地利用，或利用某事獲利。

The new TV companies are exploiting the potential of satellite transmission.新的電視公司在充分利用衛星傳輸的潛力。

Top athletes are able to exploit their opponents’ weaknesses.頂級運動員會利用對手的弱點。
⑤draw on表示利用某種經驗/知識/信息。

The report draws on several recent studies.該報告利用了最近幾項研究。
