舉兩個栗子，field常見的意思有田地、場地、領域，而且都是名詞，但是在“So it is a bit confusing when sb fields such queries from the a*erage Joe...”這個句子里field明顯是一個動詞，不是田地等含義。address常見的意思是地址，但在“...the report\'s failure to address the true nature of the crisis...”這個句子里明顯也不是地址的意思。以上兩個句子均出自考研英語真題，而且歷年真題中考察過的熟詞僻義數不勝數，如果沒有全面地掌握一個單詞的詞義，那遇到這種情況就是一臉懵逼，無從下手。
②語法（長難句）
四六級的文章中基本上都是簡單句，就算有少量長句，其語法也不太復雜，而考研英語的文章中有許多長難句，句子又臭又長。比如“Nor,if regularity and conformity to a standard pattern are as desirable to the scientist as the writing of his papers would appear to reflect,is management to be blamed for discriminating against the odd balls among researchers in fa*or of more con*entional thinkers who work well with the team.”這種句子很常見。
